My favourite thing about the Montessori philosophy is how it is so child led. I enjoy observing how our kaiako follow the child's interests, how they are taught grace, courtesy and manners, to respect each other and everything - which means learning to tidy up after ourselves, and how we encourage and nurture their independence. I also enjoy seeing the tamariki so engaged in their mahi and because they are busy, hearing how quiet the classroom is.
